This study brings to the knowledge of the reader the relationship between history and economics. To better understand the economies of the world, one has to properly understand the story behind these economies. How did the world economies react to the changes that characterized each age? What made them rise, fall or stagnate? And what could be drawn from their stories?

The course traces the history of the economy/economics through various stages and eras. The course units will focus on: relationship between history and economics, oriental economic history (China and the Asian tigers), African economic history, economics of WWI, history of capitalism, the economics of WWII and post war prosperity.
